IUNG – Fertilizer search engine

We developed a modern, functional, and fully accessible web platform dedicated to fertilizers. This digital solution was created for the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute (IUNG-PIB). Crucially, the website enables rapid product discovery through an advanced search engine system. Furthermore, it supports users with a simple, highly responsive interface that complies fully with WCAG 2.1 standards.

Project objective

The primary goal of this implementation was to create a digital platform that provides fast, simple, and intuitive access to fertilizer information. Consequently, the website supports a diverse group of users – including local farmers, industry specialists, and agricultural researchers. It effectively helps them locate the right products and explore their detailed properties.

Website functionality

The core feature of the platform is an advanced fertilizer search engine. Specifically, it allows users to filter agricultural products by:

  • product type,

  • name,

  • manufacturer,

  • application method.

Thanks to this advanced filtering, users can rapidly find a specific fertilizer and access its detailed technical description. Additionally, the website features:

  • a simple contact form,
  • transparent content structure,
  • Blazing-fast, intuitive navigation.

Accessibility and UX

The website was designed in strict accordance with the principles of responsiveness – it runs smoothly on computers, tablets, and smartphones.

The platform was built following responsive design standards. Therefore, it operates flawlessly on desktop computers, tablets, and smartphones. What is more, it automatically adapts to various screen resolutions. This setup ensures that using the interface remains highly comfortable under all conditions.

Furthermore, we focused on a legible user interface and simple operation. As a result, users can easily find the required information without any unnecessary obstacles. Despite the comprehensive data structure, navigation throughout the site remains completely intuitive.

The project fully meets all requirements of the WCAG 2.1 standard, making it completely accessible to individuals with disabilities. This configuration means that every single visitor – regardless of their individual abilities – can use the service without any limitations.

We took great care to deliver a clear interface and simple operation, which significantly improves the overall comfort of using the service. The project fully complies with WCAG 2.1 standards, ensuring total accessibility for people with disabilities as well.

Technologies used

In this project, we utilized the following technology stack:

  • WordPress – for core content management,
  • PHP – for building robust backend systems,
  • JavaScript – for handling interactive user interface elements.

These selected technologies ensure excellent operational stability, ease of scalability, and effortless content editing for the client’s internal team.

This dedicated portal for IUNG-PIB perfectly combines modern web technology with a practical approach to knowledge presentation. Consequently, users can quickly and intuitively access critical information about fertilizers. What is more, the overall service structure was designed specifically to facilitate daily tasks for database users – both agricultural specialists and local farmers.

In reality, this digital tool does not merely present data; it also actively supports strategic decision-making. Both the user interface and individual functionalities were developed from the ground up with full accessibility and user comfort in mind.

As a result, we delivered a website that loads fast, looks exceptionally clean, and furthermore, remains fully accessible to everyone – including users with disabilities. In conclusion, this platform actively supports modern agriculture while simultaneously promoting expert knowledge and a precision-driven approach to fertilization.
