Małopolska Marshal’s Office web application.
Today, the growing need for public data access is becoming increasingly critical. This rule applies especially to crucial environmental protection data. Therefore, institutions must create digital tools that simplify information browsing while raising public awareness among citizens. For this reason, our developers built a modern web application for the Małopolska Marshal’s Office. Specifically, this practical tool monitors complex industrial emissions across the entire region.
Our team designed the platform within the integrated LIFE project titled “Małopolska in a Healthy Atmosphere”. The primary task of this initiative is to implement the regional Air Quality Plan successfully. Therefore, the main goal of the tool is to organize and standardize complex data records.
Crucially, the data published in the system comes directly from official environmental protection offices. Consequently, we can guarantee that all information remains completely reliable and up to date. For example, visitors can easily find detailed data regarding:
industrial plants that emit pollutants into the air,
official permits for gas and dust emissions,
integrated environmental permits,
officially reported industrial installations,
annual emissions of specific chemical substances.
The entire system is exceptionally user-friendly. This high usability is a direct result of combining modern programming technologies. Specifically, the developers utilized Java, React, and Leaflet JavaScript. On one hand, this powerful tech stack ensures high performance and absolute system stability. On the other hand, it delivers dynamic, interactive operation and clear data visualization on an interactive map.
Furthermore, it is worth emphasizing that the platform features an advanced technical structure. However, using the web application does not require any specialized technical knowledge. The clean user interface enables rapid data searches for both public officials and local residents.
To present the application to a much broader audience, our team also created a dedicated website based on WordPress. Specifically, we enhanced this platform with interactive JavaScript elements. Therefore, the website does not merely facilitate easy access to the main application. It also fulfills a vital informational role. For example, the portal clearly presents the core project goals, recent news updates, and valuable educational materials.
Thanks to this modern solution, the institution can quickly edit content and manage system updates seamlessly. Moreover, the staff can share the latest information in a highly readable format. Consequently, they can perform all these administrative tasks successfully without involving a software development team for every single change.
The deployment of digital solutions in the public sector, such as this tailored application for the Marshal’s Office, delivers outstanding results. Above all, it demonstrates that modern technology can and should serve public operational transparency. Furthermore, it actively strengthens civic engagement. Therefore, we should strongly support projects that do not merely fulfill basic public information obligations. Instead, these digital initiatives must actively shape eco-friendly attitudes among local citizens.
