In a time of rising pollution, environmental protection is a clear priority. Therefore, the Institute of Environmental Protection IRMiR offers access to highly reliable data. We developed a modern web application tailored specifically for the Institute of Environmental Protection. This project successfully combines advanced technology, ecology, and user convenience. Furthermore, it significantly simplifies the analysis of global air quality.
Crucially, the application visualizes complex emission data directly on an interactive map. Thanks to this feature, users can quickly check the current pollution emission levels. Consequently, they can take immediate action or analyze data across various geographical locations and timeframes. In this way, the entire system operates intuitively and without unnecessary clicks.
The data comes exclusively from trusted and verified sources. Therefore, the application presents it in a simple, logical, and clear manner. As a result, users can easily understand exactly what the charts and maps represent. Furthermore, the web platform runs seamlessly and requires no local installation.
What is more, we made the entire platform available in English. Consequently, it reaches a much broader international audience. Global users can effortlessly locate all the necessary environmental data. Ultimately, this means we successfully combine data, maps, and web technology into one clear, transparent tool.
We designed the digital solution in two distinct versions: public and private. Therefore, the application perfectly meets the needs of both regular daily users and industry specialists. Crucially, the ultimate goal was to create a comprehensive tool that serves everyone effectively.
The public section is available completely without logging in. Consequently, any user can freely:
We created the private section specifically for the employees of the Institute of Environmental Protection. Therefore, this restricted area requires user login. Furthermore, authorized users can easily:
Ultimately, this targeted approach ensures maximum digital functionality. Additionally, it enables rapid access to critical knowledge and strongly supports all ongoing environmental protection initiatives.
From the very beginning, we focused heavily on simplicity, speed, and user convenience. We knew that the web application had to be highly intuitive. Therefore, our development team programmed it entirely in TypeScript. Additionally, we implemented the modern React framework. This robust solution provides exceptional platform stability and security. Crucially, it also significantly facilitates the future scaling and development of the project.
We seamlessly combined advanced web technology with highly accurate data. Specifically, we utilized OpenStreetMap components. We integrated precise data from the LIFE20 PRE/IT/000004 – lifeREMY project into these maps. Consequently, users can check PM2.5 particulate emissions and other pollutants in just a few clicks.
Furthermore, we present the collected data categorized by specific sectors. For example, users can easily view emissions from the “other stationary combustion sources” category. Everything operates smoothly without any unnecessary waiting times. As a result, the maps respond rapidly, and the application delivers crucial knowledge in a clear and user-friendly manner.
We placed a strong emphasis on interface legibility. Despite the high complexity of the underlying data, the application remains remarkably simple to use. At any moment, users can easily modify the date range, map contrast levels, data layers, or the specific emission type presented. Consequently, even individuals without specialized knowledge can navigate and use the platform freely.
In essence, this project is much more than just another standard web application. Ultimately, it serves as a powerful tool that actively drives pro-ecological activities. It simplifies strategic decision-making, streamlines action planning, and enhances the analysis of human impact on nature. Furthermore, by successfully combining data, technology, and responsibility, we actively support a better tomorrow.
